Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go tell it on the mountain
Our Jesus Christ is king

What a wonderful and famous song, ‘Go tell it on the mountain’. I have adapted it for my purpose to announce Jesus as the King who is about to come as Judge of the living and the dead, not just as a new born child. For Christ is coming as Judge. I want to shout it on the mountain top in every valley that Jesus Christ is King!! Jesus Christ is Lord. The whole world waits with bated breath as the world experiences chaos after chaos, previous allies throw off the veneer to bare the otherwise hidden face and new alliances are forged for selfish advantages and self preservation. Slowly like a joke the Arab spring swept through the desert and created a migrant crisis such as the world has never known. Proceeding it was the fundamental Islamic philosophy that has produced the world’s most wanted terrorist organizations; bombing, killing and wanton destruction in their path with meaningless beastly undercurrent. How would you explain, the ripping out of the baby from a pregnant woman or the chopping to pieces killed village farmers in their farm lands, or the mass killing of a whole village while they slept in their beds in a time of peace as well as other bestial horrendous atrocities; and yet no one has been prosecuted for all these crimes. This has become the current feature in Nigeria where Christians in the Northern part of the country are now endangered species, martyrs of the Lord Christ. Many communities and villages have become grave yards with only the soulful sound of lonely birds and in some cases, the survivors are now sheltering in internally displaced camps with little or no governmental support.
The devil wants us to hate the perpetrators of these crimes and the government officials who have turned a blind eye to these killings; but God has shed his love abroad in our hearts. We cannot descend into the abysmal nature to hate. Hating is not our nature! Our nature is to love for we have the nature and mind of Christ. We shall love our enemies and pray for those who despitefully use us (Matt. 5:44). We will adopt the Christ culture: love and the gospel.
The events in our nation show clearly one thing: the end is near! Surely, the wickedness of man has reached high proportions. We can’t fail to mention the satanic quest for riches through human sacrifices and harvest of human organs that has become common-place events. Surely the end is upon us and we must make hay while the sun shines. We must go tell them that Jesus died for them and that He reigns as king! “Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest? Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, one soweth and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men labored and ye are entered in to their labours” John 4: 35-38. Many have been laboring in these hard fields and have lost their lives, we are stepping into their shoes. May God help you to step forward into shoes of martyrs. May his grace abound to you as you step out to take the gospel into the black curtain.
